Who Makes the Flute Swab?
Elizabeth DuBois McCarthy has spent her adult life in Nova
Scotia.
Born and raised in Indiana, she began flute at age nine. She
studied
with Donald Peck, Joseph Mariano, Aurele Nicolet, Marcel Moyse &
Geoffrey Gilbert.
Beth holds a Bachelor's Degree from the
Eastman School of Music (Rochester, New York) and a Master's
Degree from Emporia State
University (Emporia, Kansas).
She has played Principal Flute in the Winnipeg
Symphony (Manitoba) and the Atlantic Symphony (Nova Scotia).
She was the founding
president
of the Atlantic Flute Society.
Her students range from young (Suzuki Method)
to adult and from beginner to advanced. She is Instructor of
Flute at Dalhousie University
in
Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Beth encourages her students to pursue the
highest standard possible.
She believes the Flute Swab allows them to support this pursuit
by
helping them to keep their flutes in top form. |
